WhatsApp Web "lastseen" Chrome Extension. Some time ago I informed Facebook that the privacy setting "lastseen" in WhatsApp is totally useless. After a few e-mails thay told me they didn't consider this a security problem, but a feature clearly stated in WhatsApp T.O.S. Well, then why is there a useless security setting? Nevermind, I just coded a quick and dirty extension for google chrome so the "last seen" of the contacts hiding it, is shown next to their name! Enjoy the extension!

If, like me, you own a TV BOX (chinese android box with KODI) and you connected a big ass hard drive to it (I connected 2 8tb external usb HDDs), you might have noticed that the box slows down on intermittently locks up. One of the reasons is overheating... and this is known. What is not known is that these boxes have by default the android media indexer active. They don't have enough memory to handle that and that causes problems. I solved the problem without losing any data! The solution is pretty simple: disable the media indexer. And here is how: The simple way to solve this it to enable USB debugging mode and connect to the phone using "adb" (android debug bridge) utility. Then issue the command adb connect [box ipaddress]:5555 (on the box a popup will appear asking you if you want to authorize this operation. Since a few days the phone of my girlfriend (a SONY ERICSSON XPERIA Z3 dual) had all kinds of problems including the notification sounds totally gone. I solved the problem without losing any data! I remebered that years ago I posted on this blog ( www.zibri.org ) about a way to solve another problem (my phone was not going to deep sleep anymore) and I found out that just resetting a few settings solved the problem, I used the same method to solve a lot of situations including this. The reason why this hapens is that some phone settings get corrupted with time (freezes, battery removed abruptly or jusyt software glitches). As everyone probably knows, DVD players are limited by software to watch DVD of the region the player was bought from. The user can change the region 4 times (the first time is changed automatically when the first DVD is played). After some research I found that many players have secret SCSI commands to reset the counter. This is called vendor reset. Also this is limited though. And can be used only 5 times. But since I don't like commercial limits, I wrote a small utility that can reset everything. Have a look at this github link.
